I've been fishing in the Bergell Valley on the Maira River practically since I can remember; as a little boy, I always accompanied my father when he went fishing. At 20, I started fly fishing because my uncle had been passionate about it for many years. I caught my first trout as a fly fisherman on a mountain lake using a dry fly. It was love at first sight!

What's the best thing about fly fishing for me? Being out on the water and in contact with nature. Becoming a part of nature, where it's simply a matter of the fish or me.

Passing on my knowledge through guiding

Bob's Flies gives me the opportunity to share my passion and knowledge about fly fishing, whether it's streamer fishing or Euro nymphing. Whether on mountain lakes or rivers in the Bergell region or in the province of Sondrio (Northern Italy), I'm sure to find an exciting spot for you.

Besides the highly successful Euro nymphing, I have specialized in recent years in hunting large trout with streamers. This technique requires sound knowledge of fly tying, the ability to read river structures, and an understanding of the behavior of these large trout in their habitat.
