Bob's ProTeam - Kevin

Luckily, I was born with a fishing rod and reel.

Even as a young boy, my father and uncles instilled in me the fascination of fishing. Since a large part of my family lives in Carinthia, Austria, and has established a fishing club there, I was able to make my first casts. After reaching the minimum age, I was finally able to obtain my SANA fishing license, allowing me to explore the waters of the beautiful canton of Graubünden on my own with friends.

With a spinning rod and a few Mepps spinners in our pockets, we set out from Chur, through the Engadine valley, on to the Surselva region, and back again, covering as much of the canton as we could. I was repeatedly struck by the impressive ease and casual style with which fly fishermen performed their feats on the same streams.

So I bought a fly rod, reel, and some dry flies and, full of enthusiasm, set off for the stream. Only then did I realize that behind this apparent ease lay a great deal of work, knowledge about nature, and practice.

Fortunately, this motivated me even more, so that today you will only find me by the water with my friends in waders with a fly rod.
