Auf ein Wort mit Bob's Guide - Nicola
Bob's Flies - How did it come about?
In recent years, I've been asked about fly fishing more and more frequently by people I know, both directly and indirectly. "So, what exactly do you do when you fly fish?" and "What's so special about fly fishing?" are just some of the questions I've been asked. In conversation, I've found it's not easy to give a clear answer in just a few sentences. Beyond the obvious, material differences like rod and reel, fly fishing goes far beyond that. It's become clear that the best way to explain "What is fly fishing?" is through spending time together on the water. For me personally, it's about returning to the conscious perception and observation of the fish and its habitat. It's about slowing down and consciously escaping our hectic and noisy world.

To spread the joy of fly fishing, the decision to found Bob's Flies was made in the spring of 2020. With Bob's Flies, we want to share the fascination of fly fishing with interested anglers, fostering a shared exchange and forging new friendships.

My passion for fishing gripped me at a young age. I've been fishing since I was 12. On an early summer morning in the Upper Engadine, at the age of 18, I discovered my passion for fly fishing when I watched an older gentleman practicing his seemingly effortless craft. In the following years, I immersed myself in this type of fishing more and more. Fishing for salmon in Alaska in the summer of 2015 remains one of my most memorable experiences.
